I designed three labels this spring in collaboration with Left Bank Ciders in Catskill, NY. A beloved business in the village, their role within the county is much more than just a fantastic bar to get a delicious drink with friends. As a true community cider house, giving back to the environment and neighbors around them is integral to everything they do. The apples and fruits they use are foraged from wild trees throughout the Catskills and Hudson Valley. As a Catskill resident and cider fan I was delighted to be approached by the team at Left Bank to design labels for their 2022 Co-Ferments. When we started the collaboration I wanted the labels to reflect the gnarly, intriguing, and bright flavors within each bottle. More importantly, I wanted them to represent Left Bank Ciders’ deep relationship with the region we both call home.
Each blended creature represents a different blend of two fruits foraged locally by Tim, Anna, Dave, and their amazing team. The animals that I combined to make the creatures are all well known to any resident of Greene County NY.
Risograph prints of these creatures are available in my shop!
